Derby CAMRA Diary

Saturday 2nd - Branch 40th Anniversary Trip, Batemans Brewery, Wainfleet, Lincolnshire. By Mini Coach.
Chosen because the Alexandra Hotel was a Batemans house back in the day when the branch was formed (I'm advised). This Long established (1874) and award winning brewery should make a tremendous day out visiting both the Victorian Brewhouse and the 'Theatre of Beers' where you will learn about the history of the Brewery as well as the brewing process. More information about Batemans can be found on their website;
The chosen day also coincides with their 'Bands on the Bank' fun day, so there should be plenty to do. See link
I will also try and pull in a stop in Boston along the way time permitting.

Confirmed times depart 10 am (prompt), from Cathedral Green, Derby. We cannot  hang about there is no official coach pick up here, I just found out.

Set off back ~ 8PM.

Costs; entry for the brewery and tour will be free, courtesy of Batemans; the bus will be ~£10 to 15.
We may need to pay to get in the fun day and obviously your food and drink for the rest of the day is pay as you go.
Names and £5 deposit to Dean to secure a place.

Thurs 7th - Branch Club of the year Presentations, Spondon

8 pm onwards for a 8.30 presentation at the Conservative Club and 9 pm onwards for a 9.30 presentation at the Liberal club. Regular Trent 'Spondon Flyer' Bus service available from the bus station to Spondon.

Info: Chesterfield on Saturday 9th August. (Amber Valley Trip)
You are all invited to join us on a walking/drinking day around Chesterfield.  Phil has planned a route to include many interesting pubs including ones owned by Brampton, Barlow and Raw brewing companies and also the Chesterfield Ale House micro bar.  The furthest distance between pubs should be no more than half a mile so this is more a pub crawl than an "Amber Ramble".

We are meeting at the White Swan, 16 St Mary's Gate, which is about half way between the bus and train stations, between 12 and 12.30, so if you are interested in joining us, just turn up.  If you want to catch up with us somewhere along the way, give me a call on 0779 6204519 or Phil on 07828 197795.
Wed 13th - EGM and Branch Meeting, Brunswick 8pm.
