Derby Winter Beer Festival 2011 Roundhouse Drunk Dry

What can you do when 7000 people turn up instead of 4500? Why, quickly restock with more real ale and real ciders and perries of course!! That's exactly what happened in 2011and many, many thanks to all members of staff and the Organising Team who made it happen. In 2011 many more pints were supped than we expected and as a result many improvements have been incorporated into the 2012 Festival to make sure you all have the perfect pint right up to the final whistle on Saturday night.

Wednesday 15th February 2pm opening for a Trade ONLY session
Wednesday 15th February 4pm Festival opens
Thursday 16th February 11am 11pm
Friday 17th February 11am 11pm
Saturday 18th February 11am 11pm

It's full steam ahead for Derby Winter Festival 2012 with the 15th February only round the corner. The 11th Derby Winter Festival promises to be a real treat for consumers as more than 300 real ales which are new and rare to Derby will be showcased in the beautiful setting of The Roundhouse, Pride Park.

In addition to the extra day of the festival we now have real ale on sale in the Carriage Room as well as the Main Hall of the Round House itself. The Carriage Room will also host the extensive range of entertainment on offer.

A varied selection of real ciders and perries has been handpicked for your delight and there will also be a quintessential selection of continental beer. Some wine and soft drinks will also be available.

A lot of work has gone into increasing the range and selection available to ensure we have a good selection of quality real ales and other products which will last (ideally) right up to 11pm on Saturday night. So do NOT worry there will be plenty.

Camra Derby Winter Beer Festival 2012 - it's already the main source of fresh information about the Festival in the run up to February?

Entertainment:

Music will be in the evenings in the Carriage Room (where there will be a separate stillage area) not the Main Hall.

Wednesday 15.2.12 will be an acoustic night with prearranged acts.
Thursday 16.2.12 the Merseybeasts headlining with support
Friday 17.2.12 a Coldplay Tribute headlining supported by a Supergrass Tribute
Saturday 18.2.12 UK Foo Fighters headlining with support

Young Persons Discount

Aged 18 to 21 special arrangements exist. You must show your proof of age with a photo ID and pay to get in as normal. Then if you fill in a simple form and take it to the CAMRA Membership desk you will be issued with tokens, to the value of your entry cost, which you can use at the Festival.

For 2012 there will also be an additional urinal block at The Roundhouse to relieve some of the pressure experienced by 2011 attendees at the venue's gents toilets.

Derby Winter Beer Festival goes National in 2014

Looking forward to 2014 Derby has been awarded the privilege of hosting CAMRAs National Winter Ales Festival (NWAF). Until then NWAF will continue in Manchester. More details closer to the time.
